There are many reasons why Slow Stick owners fit brushless motors to their models. Just some of the benefits are listed below:

Increased performance & manoeuvrability
Better efficiency
Less maintenance
Longer flight times
Ability to carry cargo as a result of the increase in thrust
Ability to fly in moderate winds
Increased reliability
Quieter operation

There are many suggested brushless motors for the Slow Stick and these will of course require a different combination of gearbox, propeller, LiPo battery and speed controller.
